The event

The scroll was welcomed in the Old City Hall courtyard in the historical centre of Bratislava, The capital of Slovakia

Over one hundred children from primary schools of Petralka and Kramara came to the event as well as official guests and journalists. Among them were Urua, Mathilde, Marek and Oliver, the four young artists selected through a drawing competition. The four drew their messages concerning the protection of the environment and our health on the large Scroll.

Monsieur Le Mière, Development director of Veolia Environnement, gave the inaugural speech to launch the event.

The four artists were warmly encouraged by their class mates, teachers and guests.
A youth folk group performed dances to entertain the public further during the event.

The final drawing feature simple ideas and hints proposed by the children as ways to improve our life in our daily context while preserving the well being of future generations.

Monsieur Jacques Faure, Ambassador for France, who had kindly accepted the invitation, particularly appreciated the strength of these messages.
