Životní prostředí je to, co mne obklopuje ... je to také mé zdraví.

At the beginning of March, the Veolia Environnement group launched an international campaign to help make children aware of the environment and health on the subject "The environment is my nature... and my health".

Our flag symbolises the human approach towards nature.
We have drawn a hand because it represents the human attitude towards nature. The leaf of the linden tree symbolises nature in the Czech Republic.
The sun - heat and light, without which life would not exist on our planet.
The colour blue we used to symbolise air and water.

Streamers Around the World in Ostrava

Dalkia organised the contest in Ostrava in the Czech Republic and within this scope, five classes in 3 selected schools took part in the region of Moravia-Silesia (The V Zalomu, Josef Valcik and Jan Soupal primary schools).

The children in the five classes drew five streamers that they considered symbolised protection of the environment and health and explained their ideas in an accompanying text.

Their streamers were judged by a jury on 14 March and the "Streamers Around the World" contest prizes were awarded for the Ostrava sector on 16 March 2005.
The streamers were presented after showing the film VE in the Czech Republic.

The representatives from the region, the town and the surroundings of Ostrava awarded certificates to the class representatives as well as the first prize -a symbolic cheque to the class 6.B and a cake representing the winning streamer-.

The award winning streamer for Ostrava will be presented to the national jury on 21 March.

The children in the winning class of the Czech Republic will reproduce its streamer in fabric form on 24 March 2005 in Olomouc. On the occasion of the World Environment Day, 5 June 2005, streamers carrying messages on environmental protection from children from all over the world will also be shown in the Czech Republic within the scope of the "VE Open Day".
