Schoolchildren from class CM2 in GBONVIE II school
After thinking long and hard about the theme of progress and sustainable development, we agreed that man's well-being depends on the habitat he is living in.
In our drawing, we wanted to highlight the fact that hygiene is not respected in the school environment.
We could see that the schoolchildren in our school do not really take enough care of their environment: they throw their litter straight on the ground in the playground and sometimes they even do their business there...
What's more, the women selling food leave the food out uncovered. That isn't very good for our health...
Our progress already achieved:
Worried about the health of schoolchildren in the school environment, the State and Non-Governmental Organizations - NGO - fitted latrines on our school premises. To alleviate unhealthiness due to litter strewn everywhere, trash cans were set up in our playground.
Our idea for progress:
Our dearest wish would be to be able to have a canteen with food protected from the insects.
But we also have another progress wish we would like to share with you: we would like trailer trucks to come and collect the garbage from specific places in the town. We believe that a large part of the garbage could be recycled... It would be good for the health of our planet to contemplate this kind of collection.
We the children of the GBONVIE II primary school think that these projects would generate good environmental balance. We want to act in favor of sustainable development!
