Bouqueval Features History

The Bouqueval/Plessis-Gassot landfill dates back to the early 1960s.

At that time, it was just a bottom ash recovery unit, which was transformed into sand quarries in 1966.

Landfill permits were requested to fill in 10 hectares of the quarried land in 1969.

Since then, the site has been extended and now covers 250 hectares. In parallel, the techniques used have been constantly upgraded.
